Peterborough: The Thought Machine (informal sharing)

OPENING: 01/09/17 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Metal are pleased to invite your children and yourself to a very special and informal sharing of ‘The Thought Machine’ by artist in residence Cheryl Frances – Hoad.

Join them on Friday 1st September, 11am at Metal Chauffeurs Cottage to see the work Cheryl has been developing whilst in residence and help give your thoughts and feedback.

The Thought Machine

‘The Thought Machine’ is a 40-minute theatre piece for children aged 8-12 featuring hand shadow puppetry, live music and poetry. Be entranced by sung tales of Rita the Pirate, Skig the Warrior and Hamster Man, before being transported to the moon and marvelling at a wonderful machine that can do anything you desire.

Featuring poems by Kate Wakeling (this year’s winner of the CLiPPA Prize, the only UK prize for children’s poetry) and music by Cheryl Frances-Hoad (a current Metal Artist in Residence), ‘The Thought Machine’ is brought to life by Drew Colby’s shadow puppetry, performers from SongSpiel and instrumentalists from Ensemble Perpetuo.
