SUMMARY:Schools Make Music at the Cresset
DESCRIPTION:Schools Make Music is an annual event to celebrate music happening daily across the city in our schools and educational establishments which will showcase the very best examples of music-making. The concert will offer a wonderful opportunity to show the excellent work taking place in schools and could include excerpts from in-house productions\, choirs\, instrumentalists\, bands and vocalists. We might also have the capacity to show film excerpts as part of the overall programme. We are also keen to use the event to highlight any cross-discipline activity especially where you might have dancers\, singers or other performers working with other students providing live music backing. \nAt this stage we have allowed for each primary/junior schools to have up to an 8 minute slot and secondary schools to have up to a 15 minute slot. However\, this will be subject to the number of final submissions and the Music Hub team will liaise with the school over the final running order of the programme in order to provide a balanced overall show. \nWednesday 20th March at the Cresset in Bretton Centre.

DESCRIPTION:PCYM\, in partnership with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama is a Saturday music school at Ormiston Bushfield Academy for young musicians aged 5-18 from beginner right up to grade 8+. Students take part in a range of session including ensembles\, musicianship classes\, singing\, performing and instrumental lesson in a package tailored to their needs and ability. Means tested bursaries are available for those with financial need alongside free instrumental loan for any Peterborough Student. This is a FREE event for the whole family to enjoy and for young people to shine. \nDid you know that 35% of Peterborough’s population is under 25?\nIn 2018 Peterborough celebrates being 900 years old. Over the years young people have been at the heart of the city. This event is set to be the biggest celebration of young people in the city to help inspire a new generation.

DESCRIPTION:The aim of Whole Class Instrumental Tuition (WCIT) is to provide young people the opportunity to learn to play an instrument as well as developing musicianship through singing\, rhythm games\, basic notation and listening. Performance opportunities are built into the programme so classes have the opportunity to perform. \nOn the 10th July 2018 at the Kingsgate Conference Centre a concert will be performed by primary schools in the morning\, 9am – 12noon and then by Special Educational Needs and Disability schools in the afternoon\, 1pm – 3pm.
