Join Peterborough Youth Orchestra at their Summer Workshop Concerts.

Attendees at PYO’s Summer Workshop programme will present yet another sensational evening of music, this year from the Reception Room in the Town Hall in Bridge Street, Peterborough.

PYO players will be joined by Peterborough’s Young Musician of the Year – Emily Holt – the Violin Soloist for Bach’s Violin Concerto in E. The programme will also include Finlandia (Sibelius) and Beethoven’s Symphony No 5.

The evening begins with a new group for this year – PYO Too, a training orchestra for grade 3 players conducted by Robert Galliard – (from 5pm) presenting a programme of work rehearsed across the four day course. The main PYO programme begins at 6.30pm and finally (at 9pm) another new initiative for 2017 – the Peterborough Youth Jazz Ensemble under the expert guidance of Big Band Leader Steve Hession, will play a superb session of jazz standards as the concert finale.

Once again the whole programme will be under the direction of Robin Norman.
